Anna Masiota

Anna Masiota is a lawyer admitted to the Bar in Poland and has been a member of the Greater Poland Bar Association for over twenty years. She completed her professional training with the Association.
She is fluent in English, French and Italian.
She holds a Master's degree in Law and a Master's degree in International Relations (European Studies - European Law, Economy and Culture) from the Faculty of Law and Administration at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, Poland.
As part of the Erasmus programme, she studied at the Università degli Studi di Macerata in Italy. She was also a scholarship holder of the French Government. She participated in seminars and lectures at German universities, including Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg and Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg in Germany.
With over twenty years of litigation experience, her practice centres on family law, inheritance law and civil disputes, including real estate matters.
Cross-border cases and other matters with an international element form an important part of her practice.
She regularly works with a number of respected law firms abroad and is included on lists of lawyers maintained by several foreign diplomatic missions in Poland.
She is a member of the Union Internationale des Avocats (International Association of Lawyers - UIA), an international organisation bringing together lawyers from around the world and based in Paris. Within the UIA, she is actively involved in the Institute for the Rule of Law (IROL), where she serves as Director of the Rule of Law Section. She is also a member of the UIA Family Law Commission.
She formerly represented the Polish Bar Council (Naczelna Rada Adwokacka) on the Training Committee of the Council of Bars and Law Societies of Europe (CCBE). She also served as an expert for the Council of Europe under the Human Rights Education for Legal Professionals (HELP) programme, which promotes the practical application of the European Convention on Human Rights and the case law of the European Court of Human Rights. She has also collaborated with the World Bank on its Women, Business and the Law project.
She regularly participates in professional training programmes, lectures and conferences in Poland and abroad. These have included training in French law organised by the Paris Bar Association, as well as numerous specialist programmes, including in private international law. She has also contributed as a speaker to a number of professional training events.
Outside her professional practice, she has a keen interest in cinema and art. She is also interested in international affairs and enjoys reading and travelling.
